Pardo Yachts Debuts GT75 Flagship

Pardo Yachts unveiled its GT75 flagship at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival. The 75-foot yacht is stylized with a reverse bow and sporty forward-leaning windshield. A brainchild of Cantiere del Pardo, the GT75's naval architecture was conceived by Zuccheri Yacht Design. Nauta Design also contributed to the ship's interiors and exteriors.

The GT75's enclosed superstructure provides complete protection, while a semi-open roof offers an airy lounge space to beat the heat. Her spacious cockpit is surrounded by large wraparound windows-most of which can be opened.

Horizon's CEO, John Lu, added seven new bays for fitting out hulls, allowing for approximately 15 yachts to be under construction at any given time. This system eliminates the need to move hulls from one shed to another, saving time. Other upgrades include a 3D printer, a precision five-axis router and a cafeteria. A 1,000-ton ship lift is in the works too.

Bayliss Boatworks 60 Walkaround Reviewed

John Bayliss and his team of boatbuilders at Bayliss Boatworks in Wanchese, North Carolina, is accustomed to working with owners to create hand-crafted sport-fishing machines. That was certainly the case when Bayliss and his team took on their first walkaround build: the 60-foot Sequentis .

A walkaround design is similar to an express-boat layout, but it has deep alleys around the perimeter of the vessel. This setup gives anglers 360-degree access around the boat for fighting fish. And since Sequentis was designed for tournament live-bait sailfishing in South Florida, there's as much fishing to be done off the bow as there is from the more traditional cockpit.
