With consideration of the environmental impact of boats a growing concern among yacht builders, the yachting industry and boaters in general, moves toward a more sustainable industry are gathering pace. It’s not just about hybrid propulsion and alternative fuels – it also covers lifecycle assessment, more consideration of the materials used, and other facets of the supply and construction chain that play a part.

The Monaco Yacht Show, the annual gathering in the South of France every September that offers visitors the largest display of superyachts found anywhere on the planet, takes the topic of sustainability seriously, and has just announced that the Sustainability Hub will make a return to the Show for the 2023 edition.

Located in the 200-square-metre exhibition space of Darse Sud, dedicated to nautical equipment and technology, the Sustainability Hub serves as an incubator for innovative and eco-friendly solutions, showcasing companies specialising in sustainable technologies aimed at reducing the environmental impact of superyachts.

The selection process for the Sustainability Hub’s participants is carried out in collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation. This partnership ensures that only eligible companies with genuine and viable sustainable solutions are included in the exhibition.

It provides a platform for both established companies offering tried-and-true sustainable alternatives and budding start-ups seeking to make a mark in the yachting industry with their forward-thinking ideas.
