“Over the years the big draw for Phuket's tourism has been the Phi Phi islands. They are beautiful and have lovely waters. Koh Phi Phi was put on the map after the movie The Beach was filmed there.

“Subsequently it ended up on everyone’s bucket list to go there but its 26 miles away from Phuket so you need a fast boat to go there and back in one day and still have time to explore the islands

“There is mass tourism going there with ferries as well as join-in boat charters, but for the more discerning a private boat charter for the day is defiantly the way to go about it.

“We started our tours to Phi Phi with speedboats as our bigger yachts could not make it there and back in a day while allowing for quality time onshore. There are many speed-boat companies in Phuket doing these tours but I wanted something fast, very comfortable and something very different from the average speedboat and I have been looking for years.

“I went to the Phuket Rendezvous boat & lifestyle show in Phuket in January 2018 and I saw the AQUILA 36 on display. I walked on and within one minute knew this was the very boat I had been searching for and called the Sales Manager who was on board, Simon Theseira of Simpson Marine and said ‘I will take it’. Simon went to get the champagne and we shook hands on the deal straight away.

“I went through the import and regis-tration process in Thailand and by February the 18th we had her licensed and ready to charter. I have never looked back and she is out almost daily.
