Yacht Show Spirit Returns with SCIBS 2021

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will be underway bright and early on Thursday 20th May 2021, with more than 45,000 marine enthusiasts expected to converge on the Gold Coast during four days of yachting festivity.

The show is held at the Sanctuary Cove Marina and is the first since the completion of a $10 million expansion. The development of new superyacht marina basin areas has enhanced the berthing facilities of Sanctuary Cove to accommodate yachts up to 70-metres, set in one of the Gold Coast’s most desirable locations adjacent to the Marina Village and Intercontinental Resort. Sanctuary Cove Marina was recently awarded with a Platinum Gold Anchor in recognition of its position as a premier yachting and lifestyle destination with world-class facilities.

The 32nd edition of the event offers a range of new VIP experiences tailored to the hundreds of exhibitors and more than 45,000 visitors that will explore a lavish boating lifestyle. “There is no doubt that 2021 is shaping up to be one of our biggest shows, not only in terms of the sheer number of boats and the quality of exhibitors we continue to attract, but also when looking at the expanded footprint and the number of visitors expected through the gates” says Johan Hasser, General Manager of SCIBS.

Among the key representatives of the Australian superyacht industry in attendance at SCIBS 2021 will be Superyacht Australia, the SuperyachtGroup Great Barrier Reef, and a number of the key marinas including RivergateThe Boat WorksCoral Sea Marinad’Albora and GCCM. A number of exciting yacht brands will be exhibiting at the show, from British brands Sunseeker and Princess to Australian icons Riviera and Maritimo. This will also be the first SCIBS since renowned Italian explorer yacht builder, Cantiere delle Marche, opened its new offices in Sydney due to increased demand in the area.

Making its official debut at the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is the new 30m superyacht RP100 built by Horizon Yachts. This custom yacht features four spacious ensuite staterooms, a sophisticated formal dining room for eight people, a country kitchen on the main deck, and an open exterior flybridge complete with a bar area, jacuzzi, and sun lounges.

Also at the show will be the Domino 88 Super, a statement of Italian craftsmanship by legendary builder Riva Yacht. The 26.7m yacht boasts a top speed of 70 km/h and teats her guests to a Hollywood experience with the finest leathers and fabrics, a VIP suite, and exquisite entertainment centres.

The 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show marks a long-awaited return to yachting festivity in Australia after the postponement of the show last year. Preceding the kick off of SCIBS 2021, the ASMEX Conference highlighted the strength and resilience of the Australian marine industry, which has seen a surge in charter and refit activity that signals a promising future Down Under.
