Tankoa’s 72-meter/236-foot Solo is a gorgeous-looking yacht. With exterior lines by Francesco Paszkowski, she has an interior by Paszkowski’s interior lead designer Margherita Casprini.
In her six cabins, M/Y Solo can accommodate 12 guests. These include the master suite on the gigantic private owner’s deck. These also include a VIP suite and four doubles (two convertible into twins) on the main deck to ensure total quietness. The hairdressing/massage room, an amazing beach club, a glass-walled gym with its own terrace, a spa, and a swimming pool are just some of the features providing comforts for the owner as well as charter guests.
FPD Studio, in cooperation with Margherita Casprini, received instructions from Solo’s owner. He wanted interiors offering a strong contrast with the exterior. The idea was to create an exquisitely elegant atmosphere by designing a modern, minimalist but warm interior. Cold materials like the Cappuccino marble, imported from Jaipur in Rajasthan, contrasting with subdued tones of soft furnishing and carpets, tailor-made for Solo, create timelessness and enhance the sense of elegance.
Another of the owner’s wishes was the extensive use of natural materials assembled in a way that would offer great balance and modernity, while also being timeless and understated. As a result, all the marble, with the exception of the white onyx from Mexico, has a satin finish. Most of the wood also has a satin finish, with Macassar ebodny highlights.
Francesco Paszkowski omments about Solo:
The yacht was designed for both private use and charter purposes as requested by the owner. This required continuity between the various social spaces, a precise but flexible division according to use, good communication between the exterior and interior, and the rigorous use of architectural principles.
In collaboration with Margherita Casprini, the interior design perfectly reflects the wishes of the owner. Dark and light shades carefully balance, complementing each other and the discreet colour palette chosen for the soft furnishings. Both materials and finishes combine with painstaking attention to details and Made-in-Italy top brand names.
