info@easybranches.comHong Kong athletes have qualified for 15 events at this year's Paris Olympics in cycling, sailing, swimming, table tennis and windsurfing. In a Legco paper, the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau says the SAR has also qualified for 12 events in three Paralympic sports, which are boccia, equestrian and swimming. Hong Kong swimming star Siobhan Haughey, who won two silver medals at the Tokyo Olympics, will compete in the women's 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle, as well as the 100m breaststroke. Cindy Cheung will swim in the women’s 200m backstroke, while Ian Ho will race in the men's 50m freestyle. The ILCA 7 event, meanwhile, will feature Hong Kong sailor Nicholas Halliday. The government said it will provide live broadcasts at sports centres across the city during this summer's Games. Meanwhile, the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee will organise a series of language and cultural experience sessions for athletes and journalists heading to the Olympics.
