info@easybranches.comLaura Kuenssberg hosted the latest episode of BBC Panorama, Labour in Power: Inside the New Government, on Monday evening, taking a deep dive into Labour's first days in office.
The documentary gave viewers behind-the-scenes access to the days following the General Election and showed Laura grilling new chancellor Rachel Reeves and other key cabinet players on the party's promises.
After the episode aired, it sparked backlash on social media with some calling it "embarrassing" and suggesting Ms Kuenssberg, 47, should be replaced.
Reacting to the BBC on Twitter/X, one user fumed: "Well that was embarrassing, Panorama."
Another criticised, referencing the Conservative Party's 14 years in power: "For 14 years Laura forgot the right questions to ask the government."
A third wrote: "Whatever Kuenssberg can do, Victoria Derbyshire can do better. Victoria Derbyshire to replace Laura Kuenssberg on the BBC?"
Several users agreed, with comments like "let's hope so" and "oh my god yes".
However, another user suggested that changing the presenter "won't make any difference."
Another bluntly replied: "Replace the BBC," while a third surmised: "We want good, impartial reporting not political bias from any side, enough is enough the BBC must become the neutral channel it historically was."
It is not the first time fans have called for Laura to be replaced by the BBC morning news presenter.
Back in October, Victoria filled in for Laura for four weeks following the death of her father. Many viewers of the Sunday morning politics programme praised Victoria for her performance, namely her grilling of Grant Shapps, Ed Davey and Rachel Johnson.
One tweeted: "Victoria Derbyshire is an excellent interviewer holding people to account. Superb in not taking the Tory deception, deceit and evasion from Grant Shapps. Maybe she could be a permanent replacement for Laura K. #bbclaurak."
Another said: "Oooh. Laura K must have been watching Victoria Derbyshire & feeling a bit queasy. That’s how it’s done, Laura. #bbclaurak."
A third added: "Just watched Victoria Derbyshire on #bbclaurak give a masterclass in how to interview and hold politicians to account. Her razor sharp questions cut through the waffle as she pressed for answers to the questions asked. She would be excellent on #BBCqt."
