Bruce Scott, speaking at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) about the suite of revolutionary features available for vessels in the 7000 series, hailed them as “the greatest investment since Whitehaven was founded,” and went on to trace his own Whitehaven journey, from proud owner to proudly owning the company.

But, decades before, Scott was just as passionate about boats and the boating lifestyle, an interest that is inextricably linked to his career pathway from road to sea. Born into a truck transport family in Sydney’s south, Scott worked alongside his dad Don for many years, learning the values of hard work and honesty – and the value of a brand’s reputation. Holidays were always spent on the family’s boats.

“Don was a pioneer,” explains Scott. “He was incredibly strong and used to hand-load and unload his trucks – he was also mechanically minded and built his own fridge trucks. Dad was completely old school and made me do a trade. I spent four years doing a refrigeration mechanic apprenticeship before I finally joined the company in 1978.”
