Tiara Yachts is preparing to make a big splash at the Miami International Boat Show in February with the 56 LS-the largest, most ambitious outboard model the builder has ever created.

NOAA proposed speed map

Good news for boaters along the East Coast of the United States: NOAA Fisheries is officially withdrawing its proposed North Atlantic Right Whale Vessel Strike Reduction Rule. The rule would have imposed 10-knot speed limits on recreational vessels greater than 35 feet in length from northern Florida to the Northeast for up to seven months of the year. According to the withdrawal notice, approximately 90,000 public comments were submitted on the proposal, which was introduced on August 1, 2022, as an amendment to the current right whale vessel speed reduction rule.

Boats in an island bay

When Denison Yachting partnered with Magellan Jets, part of the idea was to introduce each company's clients to the other company's way of traveling the world. But as the Denison team started to explain yacht-charter base rates and additional expenses to jet customers, there were a lot of confused expressions.

"If you didn't know that's how it works, it's sometimes a hard sell to explain to someone," says Ben Farnborough, chief operating officer at Denison. "Actually, it's not $150,000 a week. It's $150,000 a week plus the APA. 'What's the APA?' Well, it could be another 35 percent on the top. 'Why don't you include that in the price so we know what we're paying?'"
