Africa’s marine industry is on the cusp of transformation, with its boating and superyacht sectors experiencing unprecedented growth. From its vast coastline spanning over 30,000 km to its thriving inland waterways, Africa’s marine potential remains largely untapped – until now.

The continent is home to some of the world’s most breathtaking cruising destinations, including Egypt’s Red Sea, Kenya’s Lamu Archipelago, the Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, Tanzania’s Zanzibar, Mozambique’s Quirimbas, Angola’s coastline, and South Africa’s renowned marine hubs. Yet, despite its natural assets, the industry has faced structural challenges, underinvestment, and a lack of strategic collaboration.

Recognising this extraordinary opportunity, Veda Pretorius of Superyacht Cape Town has announced the launch of the inaugural African Boating Conference, set to take place on 21 & 22 October 2025, at The Avenue, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. This groundbreaking event will provide a dedicated platform for industry leaders, stakeholders, and policymakers to drive the future of Africa’s marine sector.
