Editor’s Note: Happy Easter from Superyachts.com

With the bank holiday weekend close on the horizon, this week has been as busy as always in the editorial office. While news came in from across the globe, we’ve been taking a closer look at the northern hemisphere with the Med slowly heating up for a summer of activity.

Our lead story this week comes from feature writer, Anna Solomon, who looks to the MYBA Charter Show - a show that signals the start of the season - in her two-part breakdown of the must-see yachts exhibiting at Barcelona’s OneOcean Port Vell next week.

Speaking of popular Med-marinas, this week our Marina Spotlight shines on Genoa, with Marina Porto Antico proving the safest superyacht solace on the Ligurian coast. Providing a base for those wanting to explore Italy’s most exciting destinations and with all the amenities Captains and crew could need, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Elsewhere and in another two-part special this week, Editor Christina Tsangaris writes about the small but mighty Vripack yacht, Gayle Force which is taking a slightly different approach to typical summer cruising. Having embarked on an incredible year-long voyage, at just 29m, the yacht has so far visited Antarctica, Patagonia and Chile and is now on its second leg in Robinson Crusoe Island before heading to Galapagos. We hear from the Captain about the exciting adventures to come.

But it’s not all about summer destinations in this week’s newsletter, with Roberto Curto Designs presenting an extremely eye-catching concept in partnership with SuperYachtsMonaco. The unique vision, is a 63.2m inspired by the elegance and agility of the Mediterranean Cuttlefish aptly named Hypnosquid.

In other news, Tankoa provided us with an exciting update on 50m Elettra. The technical launch happened earlier this week and leaves the industry in anticipation of what’s to follow in the footsteps iconic M/Y Solo.

So with all eyes on the up and coming shows, and the yachts beginning to make their way to the Med, we wish our readers a wonderful Easter break before the busy summer season truly begins!
