Now that summer is underway, you’re probably scouring the internet for a vacation spot. Rather than resorting to the usual destination, Paris, Venice or Rome, opt-in for a summer adventure like no other with a motor yacht charter around the world; or at least one of these destinations we handpicked for you.

Known for their clear waters that blend seamlessly with the sand and mesmerizing coastal cliffs, each destination is guaranteed to be a great sailing destination. Whether you want to island hop in Greece, set an anchor on the Croatian coast or explore the Amalfi coast, here are the best sailing destinations of this year.

Greece

Greece is perhaps the most undisputed home of sailing in the Mediterranean with its many islands that surround the beloved summer destination. Explore the gin clear waters of the Ionian Islands and adventure through the bays of the Sporades Islands, before disembarking to Mykonos for the afternoon. The possibilities are endless with a yacht charter, and with over 6,000 islands and islets scattered in the Aegean and Ionian Seas, you’ll never know where your adventure will take you, but we know how you will get there. The best part of chartering a yacht in Greece is skipping the tourist line and avoiding the ferry crowds. All you have to do is point your vessel in the direction of a port and anchors away.

Croatia

Explore the Dalmatian and Kornati coastline, which is sheltered by chains of over 1,185 islands—all available for safe anchorages and harbors during your sail. Croatia is second on our list for top sailing destinations because of its clear seas and gentle summer breezes that will guide you from bay to bay. Don’t forget to explore the land as well as the sea. Croatia is known as a place that has something for everyone, from century-old town quays to metropolitan meccas, traditional markets to buzzing nightlife and incredible views from every corner. Croatia is one of our favorite sailing destinations and even if you only have a weekend or a week, this destination is a must do.

Italy

You have probably explored Rome and Venice and maybe even Tuscany, but have you ventured out beyond the amorous land? Sailing in Italy can be divided into four areas: Tuscan Islands, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Sardinia. Think of the rustic charms and raw beauty of each island waiting for you to taste the local cuisine, sip Moscato, explore port towns and swim in its azure waters. Start your Italian islands sailing adventure from one island to the next while you sit back, relax and take in the picturesque seaside towns, sleepy islands, and endless calm waters—all with a coastal breeze in your hair.

Spain

With more than 8,000km’s of coastline and endless marinas, Spain is a sailor’s paradise consisting of four main islands that are not to be missed. These four larger islands include Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera—all of which offer unique adventures. Palma, Mallorca’s capital is rich in culture, Ibiza is rich in nightlife and Menorca offers low key atmospheres with wonderful red beaches. Spend the day basking in the sun, explore the underwater world or get a thrill with rock jumping and cave diving. If you’re looking to slow down and take a breath, visit Ibiza’s tranquil sister, Formentera a smaller island with unspoiled bays.

Turkey

Our last sailing destination is the southern coast of Turkey. Here, you will find Aegean and Mediterranean coasts that are world famous for turquoise waters, remote beaches, and historic ruins. Cruise the Peninsula of Calipolis to Antalya to find yourself amongst the charm of beautiful bays and coming to terms with acres of ancient ruins from the proto-Greek period to the Byzantine period. Don’t forget to grab a shish kebab or indulge in freshly caught seafood to refuel before you go diving in the waters, jumping off cliffs and tanning on a secluded beach or on your own yacht.
