It's been a busy week, with exclusive insights across the board. Starting with Andrew Winch on 80-metre excellence, to an interview with Luca Dini on Mondomarine's Classic Line. Not to forget, the ultimate West Mediterranean Yachting Guide to kick off the Summer season...

It's always a pleasure speaking to an esteemed designer such as Andrew Winch. Finally, after weeks of waiting on the launch of Abeking & Rasmussen brand new build, last week, the wait ended. The German shipyard unveiled the magnificent 80m known as Project 6505, or more recently, Excellence. Andrew Winch spoke exclusively with us on his involvement, as well as "The owner’s passion for his car collection and the automotive industry" which played a key part in the inspiration for the iconic interior." Read the full story, which sheds more light on the exciting launch.

Our inside scoops of the week didn't end there. Luca Dini Design, the Firenze-based firm, spoke with us on their latest challenge; to design of the Mondomarine Classic Line, consisting of three models that are 43, 50 and 63m long respectively. Luca perceptively commented on the role of the designer; to which he shared he is "Sincerely convinced that the designer has the task of designing nice things, but at the same time [he] must make his clients happy, not impose his ego on them", something we found perceptive and important the ever-changing role of design within the industry.

The whacky and the wonderful soon came into play this week, something the superyacht industry is well acquainted with. Project Mori, the Shark-Inspired Superyacht, by Bhushan Powar Designs will be a 90m giant with an intriguing inspiration. We at Superyachts.com had the pleasure of talking to Bhushan Powar himself, the mastermind behind this utterly unique creation. Read more here.

In the latest of eventful news from esteemed Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts, 55m Steel  Project Pollux is set for construction with a launch date of Autumn 2020. Heesen, who prides itself on always meeting delivery dates under any circumstance, has just announced the beginning of what is set to be a swift construction of one of its classic yet statements builds. We can't wait to see this develop.

Updates continued to come into fruition, from other corners of the globe. Nozomi II at Alia Yachts to be exact. The exciting concept brewing in Antalya, Turkey is springing off the page and into the construction shed at the hands of the innovators at Alia Yachts. Nozomi II’s architectural constitution will make her a vessel of considerable performance and power, and definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Business is ticking along at the Palumbo Group too. The Extra Line - a creation by Palumbo subsidiaries Extra Yachts - recently hit the market, with Extra 76 last week sold to a European customer. A few details include; an aft galley, providing a huge up-down window accessing outdoor dining, whilst the full-beam master cabin has an original access to ensure utmost privacy, leaving nothing to the imagination.

Finally, we had our West Med Yachting Guide to Barcelona and Genoa, two charter destinations that well and truly speak for themselves. Including marina's such as  OneOcean Port Vell and Marina Genova there is nothing this quintessential slice of the Med, doesn't have.
