Editor's Note: An Industry Building Bigger

It’s been another busy week here in the Superyachts.com office. While our film team work on exciting projects that can’t yet be revealed, our feature writers have been bringing you all the latest news from the industry. This week, so it seems, the newsletter is brimming with large yacht news kicking off with the (very near!) launch of the world’s largest superyacht; REV.

Since we first heard the news of Kjell Inge Røkke’s plans to construct the world’s largest superyacht back in 2017, the team at Superyachts.com has been closely following the construction journey of REV. Today, we watched on as the vessel edged ever closer to the water, pending its imminent launch from the banks of Tulcea.

Speaking of launches, our latest Monaco Yacht Show story from Anna Solomon is full of the most recent yachts to enter the fleet. These stars of the show are set to make their debuts in Port Hercule at the end of September in what is set to be one of the most impressive yachting events yet.

In fact, our fleet focus this week also takes a look at a new launch: 80m Artefact. Launched from Nobiskrug’s shipyard just a few short months ago, we took a closer look at her exceptional design which we can’t wait to see on the horizon.

Elsewhere, and following her spectacular launch earlier this year, we took a sneak peak inside 111m TIS. Designed by Winch and built by Lurssen, this long-awaited collaboration has captivated the industry; her interior is no less astounding. You can read all about it in George Bains’ article, here

But the focus wasn’t just on the Top 100 fleet this week, with British shipyard Pendennis sharing news of their latest project; the refit of 59m Marala. The historic vessel, built in 1931 has arrived at the Cornwall-based yard. We eagerly anticipate seeing this restoration cruising again very soon. We also heard from shipyard, Derektor, who spoke to writer, Jenna Medhi about their new facilities. They announced their impending upgrade to cater for bigger builds.

So while the shipyards across Europe are working hard to deliver their latest projects, we also caught up with brokerage TWW, who announced their latest charter listing; 73m Honor. Following her recent sale by Burgess the Turquoise Yachts-build is to undergo an upgrade and name change, before being placed on the charter market in time for next season.

So while our press box is filled with news of up and coming shows and events and the superyacht industry prepare for the close of the summer season, stick with Superyachts.com for all the latest updates.
